A few days ago my GMT co-leaders and I decided that we would like to launch a new format for GMT where instead of having one 10-15min video every few weeks, we would instead have one 2-5 minute one every week so that it would be not only easier to manage in terms of filming and script writing but also to add an element of evolution and learning to the project. We found that last year it was extremely stressful and time consuming to cope with so many segments in one episode and so this was in part a direct response to that. We also, with this project, want to learn how to have only the people who are necessary for filing that day one site for two main reasons: the first is so as not to waste anybody's time as the IB is very demanding of our time and energy as students, and the second is that so we could develop closer bonds of collaboration with each member as we can work more closely with them and learn more about them and how they like to work. I learned for instance that Matthew likes to work off of very set and defined scripts where as Jimmy prefers a basic pollen and then improvisation so this was helpful information for us moving foreword as a CAS group so that we can maximize both the quality of the final product and the efficiency of the process. I do however think that this new format tags along with it a new challenge: Will GMT become the norm? anticlimactic? will it loose the sense of anticipation that surrounds each episode as they are uploaded more frequently? For now, I cannot say for sure but I can only hope for the best. This is the first video we made this school year that explains our new format as wells as calls for new members to take over for next year:
